Chinese bulletproof vests occupy 70% of the global market due to their high protection standards, advanced materials, and cost advantages. Their core advantages lie in stricter bulletproof performance standards (dent ≤ 25 mm) and the widespread use of domestically developed materials such as ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE).
Chinese bulletproof vests employ more stringent testing standards than those of the United States, requiring that the indentation of the chest cavity after a bullet impact not exceed 25 mm, far superior to the US standard of 44 mm. This means a more effective reduction in the risk of blunt force trauma. This high standard has driven continuous upgrades in material technology, from early steel plates to the combined application of ceramic composite layers and UHMWPE fibers (such as Dyneema®), increasing protective efficiency by more than three times.
In terms of materials, China has achieved a breakthrough in the domestic production of UHMWPE fibers. This material is up to 15 times stronger than steel and, at the same level of protection, is 20%-30% lighter than aramid fibers, significantly improving wearing comfort and mobility. Furthermore, Chinese bulletproof vests are priced at approximately $200, only 40% of similar Western products, achieving global competitiveness through their "high quality and low price."
