The core function of riot control equipment is to effectively control violent conflicts, protect law enforcement personnel and the public, and minimize casualties without causing fatalities.
This type of equipment primarily weakens or temporarily incapacitates targets through non-lethal means, while providing comprehensive protection for law enforcement officers. It can be divided into two main categories:
Protective Equipment: Used to defend against attacks and ensure the safety of law enforcement personnel.
Rioter Suit/Armor: Made of high-strength materials (such as high molecular weight polyethylene fiber and aerospace aluminum alloy), it possesses stab-resistant, impact-resistant, and flame-retardant properties, effectively resisting attacks from sharp weapons, batons, and non-explosive projectiles.
Rioter Shields: Made of sturdy yet lightweight materials (such as polycarbonate and fiberglass), they can withstand knife and axe cuts and high-speed impacts, serving as a crucial tool for protecting oneself and others in close combat. Some models also feature splash-proof and anti-grip protection.
Tactical Helmet: Equipped with a honeycomb-patterned cushioning layer and a quick-release chin strap, it disperses impact force and prevents dragging, protecting the head.
Non-Lethal Attack/Control Equipment: Used to disperse, deter, or subdue targets, avoiding the use of lethal force.
Riot Spray/Tear Gas: Primarily composed of capsaicin, tear gas, etc., it irritates the eyes, respiratory tract, and skin, causing burning pain, tearing, and difficulty breathing, thus rendering the target incapacitated. Some products contain UV dyes for easy tracking afterward.
High-Intensity Flashlight: Features high-brightness illumination and a strobe function, causing temporary dizziness and blindness, suitable for nighttime law enforcement or search and rescue.
Riot Suppression Gun: Fires non-lethal ammunition such as rubber bullets, beanbag rounds, and tear gas grenades to achieve the purpose of dispersal or subjugation without causing permanent damage.
Taser/Electroshock Gear: Fires a dart with a wire, releasing a high-voltage current to instantly paralyze the target's muscular system, rendering them incapacitated.
Riot Net Gun/Lasso Gun: Uses compressed air to launch a net or rope to restrain the target from a distance, preventing close-quarters physical confrontation.
