7. Power switch (knob type)

EP580 Instructions
1. According to the positive and negative poles on the battery compartment, correctly place a 3V lithium battery (CR123).
2. When using at night, first remove the objective lens protective cover.
Note: If you need to test the device during the day or under strong light conditions, do not remove the objective lens protective cover. You can observe the target through the small hole on the objective lens protective cover, and the use time should not exceed 10 minutes.
3. Press the power switch slightly to the ON position to start the power. Through the eyepiece, you can see that the green power indicator light is always on at the edge of the green fluorescent screen (this light flashes when the battery voltage is low). If the ambient light is insufficient, press the power switch down to the IR position to start the infrared. At this time, the infrared indicator light is on at the edge of the fluorescent screen, and the infrared auxiliary light source also emits red light and automatically focuses.
Note: When the infrared is turned on, the light emitted from the infrared auxiliary light source can be seen by people who are also using night vision devices.
4. When locking the observation target, first adjust the objective lens by rotating the objective lens focus ring, adjust the image effect to the relative best position, and then adjust the eyepiece by rotating the eyepiece focus ring, and also adjust the image to a relative best position. Usually, the image can achieve the best effect after repeated adjustments three times.
5. During the observation process, when the environmental detector detects that the ambient light intensity exceeds 40 LUX, the device power will automatically shut down within 10S to prevent damage to the image intensifier.
6. After use, press the power switch to OFF, and the night vision device will stop working.
Precautions for using the night vision device
1. Do not disassemble the device by yourself;
2. The night vision device should be placed in a portable bag and stored in a dry and ventilated place to prevent the lens from getting damp and moldy. Keep it away from heating devices and avoid direct sunlight, high humidity and environments with drastic temperature changes;
3. The night vision device should be used at night and should not be aimed at strong light such as street lights, headlights, fire, etc. If you need to detect during the day, make sure that the lens protective cover is not removed and detect through the small hole on the lens cover;
4. Use good quality lithium batteries. Poor quality batteries will affect the use effect and easily damage the equipment;
5. Try to avoid rain or fog, and prevent falling, shaking and collision;
6. Do not wipe the lens frequently. If you need to wipe it, wet a clean and soft lens cleaning cloth in alcohol and then clean the lens surface. Be careful not to scratch the lens;
7. Remove the battery if it is not used for more than three days to prevent battery leakage and damage to the equipment.
Note: It is normal that the device cannot be turned on when the ambient illumination is high (usually more than 40LUX). The device has an anti-glare protection function to protect the image intensifier from damage. In strong light outdoors during the day or in light indoors, do not open the objective lens cover before turning on the power. At this time, you can watch through the small hole in the center of the lens cover.
If you do not use the device correctly according to the above method, you will be responsible for any damage to the device. The manufacturer does not assume any responsibility.
Faults and repairs
The following are common faults and solutions. If the fault is not listed below or the problem cannot be solved according to the following instructions, please feel free to contact us.
When the night vision device cannot be turned on:
1. Check whether the battery is placed according to the positive and negative polarity instructions.
2. Replace new batteries.
3. Wipe the battery compartment clean, especially the contact points of the battery.
When the observed image flickers:
This indicates that the ambient light is too strong, such as observing at dusk. The power should be turned off and the objective lens protection cover should be replaced. When the illumination does not exceed 0.1 lux, such as in a full moon, the night vision device will return to normal operation.
No image or image cannot be focused:
1. Refocus by adjusting the objective lens and reset the diopter by rotating the eyepiece if necessary.
2. Check whether the surface of the objective lens and eyepiece are clean. If necessary, wipe them with a lens cloth.
3. Replace new batteries.
4. Turn on the built-in infrared auxiliary light source when the ambient light is very low.
When the image disappears or the image quality deteriorates:
1. Automatic power off can prevent the body from being damaged by excessive light. Covering the objective lens protective cover can ensure that the device works normally when it is just started. Turn off the power first and wait until the light is dim before observing again.
2. If you are suddenly hit by a strong light source, such as a street lamp, the clarity of the image may decrease or disappear. Move away from the light source immediately, and the image will return to normal within a few minutes.
Image quality description:
1. The image seen through the night vision device is completely different from the image seen by ordinary telescopes during the day. Night vision devices use electronic amplification and then display the image on the screen, so the clarity is not as good as the image seen by the daytime telescope.
2. The electronic image intensifier will produce a snow background on the image, which is a very normal phenomenon. ORPHA B120 is far superior to other night vision devices in this regard.
3. The electronic image intensifier will have certain irregular black spots, which will be seen when observing at close range. But it does not affect observation. This is a normal phenomenon and is not a quality problem. It is not a defective device or poor quality, so it will not affect the stability and performance of the device.
Optional accessories
1: Helmet
2: Triple objective lens
3: Five-fold objective lens
4: Clamp
5: Safety box
Special tips:
1: This model uses military engineering wear-resistant plastic to make an old appearance. As a military product, the appearance will not be very delicate, and the appearance cannot be compared with the fineness of civilian products. It is normal to have an old appearance, not that the product is not new. But it is very durable and wear-resistant.
2: The image tube of the night vision device is a consumable part (not covered by the warranty). Remember not to use it during the day. If you use it during the day, please do not remove the objective lens cover.
